Ok, I still don't have some fun quip about life, or what this blog is about to put here. Someday - perhaps tomorrow perhaps two years from tomorrow - I will figure it out. Until then, see my randomness below.

Rant...

So, often in the mornings, I listen to Cosmo radio on my commute around town. On my way from home to the law school, the conversation turned to making marriages work. The suggestion, "if you happen to be poly-amorous, embrace it." That's right, take a weekend occasionally and agree to sleep with other people. This, they said, is saving marriages.

WTF!!!??! In a society where I cannot get married because the population believes me to be poly-amorous, simply because I am gay, I cannot get married. I cannot get married because, as the story goes, I cannot commit to one person. This is despite my 6 year commitment to one person. Apparently there is a hypocritical threshold that I was previously unaware of: get married, then be polyamorous. The reverse would just be wrong!

This just goes to prove that marriages have very little to do with religion. Its religion that tells us we cannot be polyamoros. Yet polyamorous persons can still enjoy the benefits of being married, they can still have every civil legal right, they can even still go to their church - they just have to make sure both parties agree. Must be something else at work here.....

.... like discrimination.
